Performances in India


2004

Our special students performed at the International Youth Day celebrated at the India International Centre, New Delhi, on 11 August 2004and got standing ovation from the audience.


To our credit, Miss Ayushi and Miss Akriti Tyagi two talented disciples of Guru Smt. Alpana Nayak participated in the All-Delhi Classical Dance Competition organized by MTNL at Talkatora Indoor Stadium in November 2004. Miss Ayushi bagged the first prize.

2005

The students of Guru Alpana Nayak performed in the “Virasat Festival” Dehradun in Uttaranchal state.


To our credit, all the students of Gurus associated with our organization won laurels in the All-India professional Classical Dance and Music examinations conducted by the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Maharashtra.

Our students participated in the All-Delhi Classical Dance Competition organized by MTNL in November 2005 and won top prizes.

2006

Our students also participated in the All-Delhi Classical Dance Competition organized by MTNL in November 2006 and won top prizes.


Guru Alpana Nayak and her students performed in presence of the Hon’ble President of India in the Rashtrapati Bhawan on 18 April 2006.

The Odissi Dance Troupe of the society performed to thunderous applause of the audience at the VIRASAT Festival 2006, Dehradun in October 2006.

2007

In October-November 2007 our students won First and Second prizes in the All Delhi Classical Dance Open Competition organized by MTNL Perfect Health Mela.


Guru Alpana Nayak performed at the 3rd International Odissi Dance Festival 2007.

2008

In January 2008 one of our senior disciples Ms. Ayushi Nayak performed Odissi dance in Mahabalipuram Dance Festival 2008, Brahmagaan Sabha, Chennai and Nungambakkam Cultural Academy, Chennai along with Guru Smt. Alpana Nayak.


Kumari Ayushi, a disciple of Guru Alpana was awarded the prestigious National Cultural Talent Search Scholarship 2008 in Odissi Dance by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

In February 2009, our organization presented a cultural evening at Surajkund Mela.

2009

Our student Miss Vasudha Kohli, a disciple of Guru Alpana, bagged the prestigious Ministry of HRD (CCRT) National Cultural Talent Scholarship for 2009.


Our Student Miss Prapti Gupta won First prize in solo dance category in MTNL Perfect Health Mela in October 2009.

Our special students won Second Prize in group dance category in MTNL Perfect Health Mela in October 2009.

Our Student Miss Prapti Gupta won top prize in National DAV Dance Competition at Dehra Dun in October 2009.

Our student Miss Sonakshi Jain bagged First position in the singing competition organized by Saraswati Sangeet Kala Kendra, Surya Nagar, Ghaziabad.

2010

In January 2010, our organization received invitation from the Embassy of the Russian Federation to explore the possibility of working in the area of disability and performing arts in collaboration with NGOs based in Russia.


When natural calamities visited LEH, LADAKH in August 2010 our members, students, parents and well-wishers went from door to door in Delhi and collected relief materials for the victims. Our NGO airlifted huge amounts of relief materials to Leh with kind cooperation of Resident Commissioner of J&K, Deputy Commissioner Leh and Kingfisher Airlines.

Alpana Nayak and her troupe presented an evening of Odissi dance at the closing event of India International Trade Fair 2010, New Delhi on 27 November 2010.

2011

Our troupe and Smt Alpana Nayak performed at SPRINGFEST 2011 at IIT Kharagpur, West Bengal on 21January 2011 and at KALIDAS SAMAROH, Nagpur on 4 March 2011.


Our challenged artist won top prize in the painting competition organised by National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) on 7 February 2011.

For the first time A.L.P.A.N.A. in collaboration with National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), Ministry of Environment & Forests, celebrated World Down Syndrome Day by organizing a four-day event, RANGOTSAV by organizing an art & craft workshop for specially talented children at National Museum Auditorium from 22nd to 25th March 2011.

Guru Alpana Nayak and ALPANA Troupe participated in the International Odissi Dance Festival 2011 and performed Odissi Dance at Bhubaneshwar, Odisha on 25 December 2011 to a packed audience.

2012

Guru Alpana Nayak and ALPANA Troupe performed Odissi at the Surajkund Mela 2012.


Guru Alpana Nayak and ALPANA Troupe performed Odissi at the internationally famous Elephanta Festival, Gateway of India, Mumbai on 24 March 2012 to rousing welcome by the audience.

A.L.P.A.N.A. in collaboration with National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), Ministry of Environment & Forests organized a two-day event, RANGOTSAV 2012 by organizing an art & craft workshop for specially talented artists at National Museum of Natural History, Barakhambha Road, New Delhi on 28 and to 29 March 2012. Sixty eight challenged artists from different schools of the National Capital Region participated.

On 20 May 2012 A.L.P.A.N.A. organised a lecture-cum-demonstration at India International Centre, Delhi on similarities and differences between Indian and Sri Lankan Classical dances conducted by Snr. Prof. Jayasena Kottagoda, Vice Chancellor, UVPA, Colombo, Sri Lanka and Prof. Ariyarathne Kaluarachchi, Dean, Faculty of Dance & Drama, UVPA, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Mr. C. Phunsog, Chairman, PESB was the Chief Guest and Mr. Samantha Pathirana, Minister Counsellor, Sri Lanka High Commission in India was the Distinguished Guest of the event.

It was a pride moment for Guru Alpana Nayak when she was conferred with “Usha Rani Samman” award by her Alma Mater Nritya Sangeet Kala Mandir, Balasore, Odisha on 9 June 2012 at a special function organised by that Institution at Balasore.

Our Institution got affiliation and recognition by Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Miraj, Maharashtra as a training and examination centre.

On 13 September 2012 Ms. Alpana Nayak performed at Nritya Vilasa, an Odissi Dance Festival organised jointly by A.L.P.A.N.A. and Nritya Dhara and sponsored by Sangeet Natak Academy at Stein Auditotium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
